Keeping up with Xamarin
Tips and tricks to stay up-to-date with Xamarin, iOS, Android and .NET
Here are the tricks I use to stay up-to-date with Xamarin, iOS, Android and .NET.
Blog Posts
Planet Xamarin aggregates content from the Xamarin Community into one news feed. This is where I discover all of the great blog posts from fellow Xamarin developers as well as the official blog posts from the Xamarin team at Microsoft.
I use Feedly to keep up with its RSS Feed.
Newsletters
These newsletters all deliver high quality content once per week
- C# Digest - Trending C# Blogs
- Gitly - Trending GitHub Repos
- Programming Digest - Trending general programming blogs

GitHub Repositories
GitHub recently released a new feature that allows us to be notified any time a new release is published by an open-source repo.
You can enable these notifications by selecting the "Releases only" option for each repo.
With this enabled, GitHub sends me an email notification each time an update has been released.
Here's a few repos to watch:
- .NET CoreFX
- .NET CoreCLR
- .NET Standard
- Mono
- Xamarin.Android
- Xamarin.Android.Support Libraries
- Xamarin Components
- Xamarin.Essentials
- Xamarin.Forms
- Xamarin Google Play Services Components
- Xamarin.iOS
GitHub Users
Along with watching repos, I also follow a few influential .NET / Xamarin developers.
And I use DevHub to stay up-to-date with their latest activities on GitHub; it's basically like TweetDeck for GitHub.
Here are a few of the folks I follow on GitHub:
- Miguel de Icaza - Founder, Mono & Xamarin
- James Montemagno - Principal Program Manager, Xamarin
- Mads Torgensen - Principal Program Manager, C#
- Frank Krueger - Mobile App Developer, Creator of sqlite-net
- Scott Hanselman - .NET Extrordinaire
- Jim Bennett - Developer Advocate, Xamarin
- Matt Soucoup - Developer Advocate, Xamarin
- Lauren Bugnion - Developer Advocate, Xamarin
- (me) Brandon Minnick - Developer Advocate, Xamarin

There are also many great .NET, Xamarin and mobile podcasts.
